These photos are of scads of abandoned Corvettes some of which are very rare. This brings up several interesting questions. Who would abandon such valuable automobiles and who do they belong to now? Perhaps the most important question is: How do I get to where they are now?  All theaters aren’t beautiful and well maintained. Just a click and you can see some vacant theatres that seem to be screaming for a visit.  This is the former Pepsi Cola bottling plant which was located in Battambang, Cambodia. The vast warehouse still contains the original bottling machinery from the 1960’s plus about 10,000 bottles of Pepsi, Miranda, Singha Soda, Teem… In fact, the factory was abruptly shut down when the Khmer Rouge took over Battambang in 1975. But there is always one old man though who takes care of the lawn and trims the hedges… I find always interesting to see abandoned places, especially when it’s related to something famous…  This seaside resort was one of the most popular holiday destinations in the world a few decades ago. Lots of stars went there like Elizabeth Taylor or Brigitte Bardot. But in 1974, the conflict that tore Cyprus in half and divided the North and South forced the closure of this resort… Since then, it’s nothing more than a ghost city. Too bad, it could be a great place to go on vacation…  That’s a funny story :))) Discover after the jump the mystery hidden behind Chinese hair rubber bands…  This missile silo is a part of three extensive underground launch complexes for Titan 1 missiles. Now it is abandoned and many curious people like to go down there and take pictures. To be honest, it is really a creepy place. Now I know what the games like STALKER or Fallout are inspired from.  This is not just thugs, it is a real organized criminal group  Baboons of the Knowsley Safari Park have decided that no one can pass on their way without paying tax. Look how skillfully they managed to open the luggage trunk on the roof of the car and take away all the stuff. The poor tourists were shocked and could not do anything to stop this madness  Of course, who would risk standing up to this horde of baboons?   Here are some photographs of the Beatles that have never been unveiled before. It’s interesting to rediscover a once so popular band through nice black and white photos, especially when it comes to photographs of their early days in music, when they were young and not yet famous internationally.  What a waste. It’s a shame to abandon all of that…  County Jail is one of America's oldest prisons. It was built in 1837. Now it is abandoned. I propose you to plunge into the atmosphere of this prison..  I would like to acquaint you with the work of famous Russian animator Alexei Alexeev. A very touching story.  The man is an excellent generator of debris. Interesting photos of various objects created by man, then abandoned.  It is situated in Tennessee and was completely abandoned in 1992. The pictures are really great. You should absolutely see it.  It’s always tough to see things like this. Somebody can’t get medical care for different reasons and here they just abandoned the whole hospital with all the equipement etc. I don’t know why they did abandon it but it’s not okay.  Places abandoned by people like buildings and even whole cities attract photographers. The photos made by them let us feel the atmosphere of these places. Very cool and beautiful!  |
