This is a new set of pictures showing us what young Chinese gangsters look like. Interesting to see and it is still funny )) Watch the first part too if you haven’t seen it yet.  Well, in my opinion, they are just having fun and it is actually funny. Moreover, some facial expressions are priceless. But I hope too that it is not heir natural behaviour, it wouldn’t be that funny anymore ;) I should say, girls in a gangsta style are kinda sexy somehow :)   Rio de Janeiro is a beautiful city which must be very interesting to visit but nothing is perfect and behind the beautiful beaches, there are a lot of things that happen in the slums… The battle which began on Saturday between hundreds of drug traffickers from different rival gangs put the chaos in Rio and turned the city into a warzone. They shot down a police helicopter. 17 people died that weekend. Talk about a good advertisement two weeks only after Rio was awarded the 2016 Olympics… It raised questions over the city's ability to safely host the Games in 2016.  Donna de Cesare is a famous photographer from New York. Her works appeared in big publications like The New York Times magazine, Life, DoubleTake, Aperture, Mother Jones and some exhibitions all around the world. Her reportage about the spread of US gang culture to Central America has won national and international awards. Recognized as an expert on issues of youth identity and gang violence, De Cesare has worked as a consultant to UNICEF. Well, her resume is quite big so I will stop here. The strength of her works is that she tells the story of youth involved in gangs without stereotyping them and her photos speak by themselves. You will see interesting photos she took for her projects inside the post.  Each gang had its own history and so on. Just look at their cards. Some are done with humor, others with a bandit "romanticism" touch - in short, the way it should be. And on some cards it is even marked their musical preferences, as you can see below.   |
