Meet Australian Paul Jacob French. He walked 2,500 mile (4,000km) from Perth to Sydney on the Old Mandurah Road. He is trying to raise $50,000 for the Starlight Foundation, which is an organization that helps hospitalized sick children in Australia. The only reason that anyone believes that he chose the stormtrooper outfit is because it attracts so much attention.
We would like to thank our reader netcars for this great post. He describes it as follows:
This post is short and sweet but it should put a smile on your face. I stumbled across a funny road sign the other day and it got me thinking about what other funny road signs there could be in existence.
Here is my Top 5:
Bumpass Hell - Watch Your Backs!!
UPD: This icy road is known as the Tuktoyaktuk Winter Road because it is only open to traffic in the wintertime. The reason for this is that in the summertime it is a river. It is only in the wintertime that the Mackenzie River Delta freezes which makes a road from parts of the Arctic Ocean and the river. This road connects the communities of Tuktoyaktuk and the Northwest Territories in Canada. In the summertime the village of Tuktoyaktuk can be reached only by boat or plane.
Tiger-Stone is a Dutch paver laying machine that can produce brick roads. This machine rolls out an amazing hardscape and creates an instant road anywhere it goes. The process looks magical and unbelievable.
Paving bricks are put onto the angled plain. As the electric crawler moves forward along a sand base layer, all the stones are packed together by gravity. The Tiger-Stone is able to lay out 400 square meters of road per day. You should watch the video to see this impressive machine in action.
Although it looks an awful lot like a road, it is not.

If you ever come to Haiti, avoid the street known as Route des Rails in Port-au-Prince. This place is horrific, as at least 1500 poor people live at this street with about 200 improvised tents. These scenes are very sad and shocking.

Some people think they know how they should drive a car, ride a bicycle or motorcycle to look cool. Of course, seeing such a scene in real life won’t make me laugh as I would be scared to death for the guy’s life. But the pictures are funny.

I haven’t seen such long road trains in my country. I wonder where they are allowed to ride. Any suggestions?

Even a minor car accident can become a real problem in Russia. See how drivers solve “road conflicts” in this country after the jump.

It seems to me that not only goods, but also roads can be “made in China”. This collection of pictures shows the road in Zhengzhou (central Chinas Henan Province) that paralyzed city traffic after geotextile entangled in a bus’ tire. This road doesn’t look like a high-standard all-season one now.

Hm… Just imagine that these cherries are gathered by shovels, after spending some time on the asphalt, and brought to the market. Yummy? I wouldn’t buy any now…

That’s how this woman charges everyone who drives on this road in China.
And if you don’t pay, then it’d be very difficult to drive, moreover, your car can get damaged.

I thought that this was the worst road in the world. I was wrong, here’s a Brazilian road called Transamazônica or The Trans-Amazonian Highway.

Here’s some history of it.
