In an international naval exercise RIMPAC2012, an Australian submarine torpedoed the USS USNS Kilauea, with one shot, in the test of the combat power torpedo submarine.
The Navy ship “Adelaide” was actually built in Seattle, Washington in 1977 but taken into the Australian Navy for use. It was ceremoniously retired and sunk off the New South Wales coast to become a hideout for fish and a destination for divers.
