The Wadi Adventure Center in the middle of the Arabian Desert is designed as a training pool for kayakers and surfers. The 100 million liter swimming pool has a wave system that can produce waves up to 3.5 meters. 21 year old Sally Fitzgibbon, is seen here testing the waves.
A group of dolphins decided to join the fun at Bondi Beach in Sydney and show the local surfers how to make the most of the waves.
Actor Gerard Butler was hospitalized as he struggled to conquer the waves at Mavericks, the infamous Northern California surf spot south of San Fransisco, while shooting Of Men and Mavericks. He is not a professional surfer, and since the movie is about the best world’s surfers he surely shouldn’t have acted his way into big wave surfing. When the birds head south in winter, surfers grab their surf boards and head up to England braving the harsh temperatures to indulge in their favorite sport.
