It happened in March 2008. Post-election clashes between tribes re-awakened ancient ethnic rivalries and they used bows and arrows to fight instead of the usual machetes. They said it was a more deadly alternative. It’s very impressive and unusual. More than 20 people died in the fighting and a man was even shot in the face… The pictures that impressed me the most are the ones where you see the Maasai warriors with members of the Kalenjin tribe on a hill overlooking the Olmelil Valley. ![]() A large number of ancient African tribes are still living in the Omo Valley region of Southern Ethiopia. Those tribes have been living near the Omo river for centuries. They have some strange traditions, outfits, makeup…etc. Their way of life is very special and I’m pretty sure you wouldn’t like to live in the conditions they’re living in.
