Its one of those cheaply made drug sub's they use to smuggle drugs into the country. Do a search and you'll see plenty of these rounded up by the Coast Guard and Navy.

They actually dont even dive. The stay just at the surface with very little exposed and therefore go unseen.

I thought about that. But isn't this one a little too detailed for such a job? I find it hard to believe drug-smugglers went to so much trouble to make it look good. Cuz it looks fantastic clapping Looks more like a movie prop to me. wassat

its a 45' model of the u-571 made for the movie by the same name.. according to the u-571 website there were 5 of them made to simulate the real submarine diving and blowing up.
