I sometimes use a dead Blue Gill to go fishing for larger Bass fish. You placed the hook below the large fin on the back of the fish and throw it out. When you reel it in the Blue Gill acts like its injured and it attacks the bigger Bass to it. Not sure if that is what is going on here but its just my thought.
