Imagine not washing your clothes for over a year! What would happen to them? This university student did just that with some interesting results!
Josh Le wore the jeans from September 2009 until December 2010 without washing them. Josh was thinking how perfect this would be to sample bacteria that jeans collect during normal usage.
After taking the pair of dirty jeans to a professor and then having them tested, he went home washed them and then wore them for 2 more weeks and went back for another testing. When the two tests were compared the results found that there really wasn’t a big difference in the bacteria levels from jeans washed for two weeks or 15 months. If you want to go green you can by not washing your jeans all the time although smell wise I think your friends would like you to wash them more often.
