These are some vintage exercise machines. Like everything else in the old days, not much was known about exercising and how to get into shape. Consequently some of the machines were quite outlandish and very funny.

I read from somewhere that those machines at the pictures worked actually quite well, and they were used in many European countries, but people forgot them when WW I started. The man on picture 1 is the inventor of those exercise machines. He was a doctor if I remember right.
