It seems that the censors did not want to show any weakness, give away any trade secrets or potentially embarrass the US. People do love their pets, and are willing to pay large amounts of money (as evidenced by the rates here) for their cats to be pampered and cared for while they're off on vacation, or business trips. The cats at this hotel can have a private suite, meals server 'a la cat', and are pampered with a special eco-friendly kitty litter that removes odor in seconds.
