Authorities have a real problem with people trying to smuggle in reptiles from all over the world. They use techniques that are very clever. Fortunately, however, they are almost always caught.
One couple tried to smuggle lizards out of Australia by hiding them in a teddy bear. In addition, the couple made many attempts to post 18 crevice skinks, sand swimmer skinks, and bobtail lizards in teddy bears. On the black market in Asia, the bobtail lizards are worth as much as $8,000.
