These guys earned some nice money.
200 tonnes of silver were exposed by Odyssey Marine Exploration Inc. at a depth of 4,700 meters below the surface of the north Atlantic. This company is devoted to deep-ocean shipwreck discovery. Last year it signed a contract with the UK government’s Department for Transport to retrieve the shipwreck with the ability to keep 80% of the find’s profits.
The latest treasure discovered by these guys is the SS Gairsoppa sunk in 1941 by German enemy ship, approximately 300 miles southwest of Galway, Ireland. It was carrying 7 million ounces of silver and pig iron worth $220 million. This is about 1% of the world’s annual silver production. This is the largest known silver shipwreck cargo salvage in history.
That's like you finding a shoe that you can still use but was clearly thrown away and no one seems to want to claim it.

btw in my country if you find anything burred in the ground then it belongs to the government. Moreover if you harm a robber in your house he can sue you and win. So I could rob money by harming myself in someone's home and the Judge adjudge money to me :D
