Something went terribly wrong with this young Vietnamese woman.
Nguyen Thi Phuong is 26 years old, but after a bad reaction to seafood she has become an old woman. Following a reaction in 2008 to seafood and then subsequent medications her skin began to wrinkle and sag, turning her into a 70-year-old grandmother.
Phuong and her husband’s attempts at curing her awful condition proved ineffectual and she is now reserved to her fate. Doctors believe an overexposure to corticoid may have caused the skin to sag and wrinkle.
However, Phuong’s hair, posture and memory are those of a young woman. Because of her publicized case she has received much help from a variety of medical experts, and a body soap company that has offered her overseas treatments.
