Do you really think that is safe? What stops the needy/mafia/whoever to sell it on, and still push the illegal clothes on the market?

They never have cared about the needy and never will. Their government creates the needy and then kills them off when they don't need them anymore. It's cheaper for a bullet than to help an injured or crippled worker. No way they are going to clothe them.

China must be a horrible country to live in. They care nothing for animals or people. I know that it is changing, but way too slowly.

from everything i've read, the people i've met, and the pictures i've seen, china is an amazing country- probably one of the most fascinating places you can go in the whole world. with plenty of art, culture and natural beauty.

china is also many of the things listed in previous comments. so as usual in this world, the challenge is to entertain contradictory viewpoints on a subject while recognising that they may both be true...

Give it to the needy-corporations dont want anyone making a profit-so burning it is the answer-money and greed taking over compassion and mercy

I really don't understand why government would care about counterfeit shirts ...It's not like these big companies are getting poor because of it ...only maybe just a little bit less rich.

Governments should not bother about this stuff ..think about your people and fuck those whiny big companies.

I disagree. I live in China and every f**king time I need to buy something I have to waste a lot of time filtering out fakes. I don't mind buying fakes if 1) the seller makes it perfectly clear that the item is a fake and 2) the item is priced accordingly. For example I bought a pair of fake Adidas trainers for 50 yuan (about £5). Chinese people themselves hate fake goods because nobody likes being lied to. Some Chinese manufacturers have started to put a scratchable strip on their products under which there is a serial number that can be checked on-line just once. This is a very clever way to fight counterfeit goods because there is no way to circumvent it, and is much better than raiding factories and burning stuff. This wouldn't eliminate fakes, but at least people would know when they are buying one, and so the price would be fair and there would be no lying, which is the biggest problem in this otherwise wonderful country.
