Tony Alleyne, 24th Century interior designer and a big fan of TV series Star Trek, decided to turn his apartment into the USS Enterprise. He spent 6 years and over $150,000 to accomplish his dream.

bottom line- he made money, got publicity, and probably used this to score some contacts, free goodies, and a few rolls in the hay. all while indulging his nerdly hobby.
