These historical maps reveal which states were making the more progressive or moral stance on social justice issues, and who weren’t. How did your state fare?

Slavery laws before the Emancipation Proclamation was issued in 1863

Women's suffrage laws before passage of the Nineteenth Amendment in 1920

Segregation laws before Brown vs Board Of Education in 1954

Interracial marriage laws before a 1967 Supreme Court decision deemed anti-miscegenation laws unconstitutional

Gay marriage rights in 2012

So, did your state get it right?

It looks like the USA has been going downhill in a hurry. They had everything right when they started.

Gotta love Florida - always leading the way for conservatism! Great weather, no free blacks, no fag marriages, and women in the kitchen cooking and in the bedroom fucking.

That's the way is should be!

The democrat party was founded, in part, to protect the property rights of slave owners.

The dem senator Robert Byrd who died recently, held high office in the KKK.

It is the dems, not the reps who are the party of racism.

"its definitely the reps right now the party of racism."
Did your grade school teacher just tell you that? Republicans believe in what MLK jr. said, " I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character." They do not believe in 'special' rights, hyphenated citizenship, taking from on to give to another, and different types of justice.
Once you grow up, meet new people an travel the world, I'm sure you'll change your perspective. If not, your parents failed.
