Who even had an idea to print this thing? On the other hand, that would be a great troll-gift for somebody who likes reading.

I prefer Grimm's Fairy Tales myself. The bible is too comedic for me.

The idea is old. In the early 1970s, a well-known Norwegian poet/author, Jan Erik Vold, tried to get a number of newspapers to publish a 'political commentary' - three and a half page of 'blah blah blah'. No paper accepted it, but the rejection letters were so readworthy that he later (when he had become the editor of a litterature magazine), published them all, together with his 'commentary'.

Like one rejection letter praising the surprising opening, but thinking the main body was somewhat dreary and the ending rather unsurprising.

Or the other rejection, suggesting that it rather should be published as a poem, with a more exciting layout.

And so on. The rejection letters are really fun reading.

The great thing about the bible is that it's generally printed on very thin paper which makes for great toilet paper when you run out of the regular stuff. That's why I always have a copy of the bible (stolen from a local hotel) in a drawer in my bathroom.

Same old Bible jokes. A lot of people died while contesting/defending the Bible, while supporting their ideas/views. You kids only bash the Bible cuz it's the cool and trendy thing to do nowadays, and Jzuz sucks. The number of ignorant people is unbelievable.

It is true that many have died while supporting their views and ideas surrounding the bible. The fact is it is a unproven storybook that may or may not have happened. You have to have faith. That's cool although I find it rather stupid. Tens of thousands have been murdered as the christian faith tried to demand that everyone believe this unproven storybook. People want evidence and that puts the God People on the hot seat, not makes it trendy. It does not say Jeses sucks, it asks "did he ever exist?" You are correct however in stating "the number of ignorant people is unbelievable" Just be sure you are including yourself in that list.

What storybook? It's a book in which primitive humans were to be controlled with. The laws meant nothing in those times, and some superstitious force was required for people to not murder each other. It contains advices, lines of guidances for humanity in those times, that advocate good will and compassion towards one another, at the pretense of a greater being. Of course Jesus or the God described there didn't exist, but the point is that humanity and evolution needed such a book. And please spare me the ignorant part, you clearly have no clue about what that word even means.
