World’s Biggest Timber Storage (6 pics)

The disused airfield of Byholma in Sweden became a local landmark after it was turned into the giant timber storage. Enormous piles of tree trunks 13 m (42.6 ft) high and 2 km (1.24 mi) long were built up here after the dreadful hurricane Gudrun, which brought down the big part of Sweden forests in 2005.

Does this storage still exist? They are watering the logs to keep them fresh. In a few months (or weeks) spruce logs that are watered go complitely black in surface. These pictures must be years old.

2 miles of dry wood vs one small match... Wet timber is a good thing. As stated in article, wood scavenged after a hurricane in 2005, so depending on when the pictures were taken it's been sitting out there for 7 years...
