This Scottish beer has a staggering 65 per cent alcohol and retails for $130 per bottle. Aptly named “Armageddon”, it would probably have to be the end of the world to get many people to drink this potent drink!

at 130 proof it wouldn't even taste like beer.

just give me some fine vodka and a case of oatmeal stout for half the money of that one bottle.

It's hard to believe they can reach this level of alcohol from fermentation alone. AFAIK, Sam Adams' Utopias is the strongest naturally fermented beer and they worked for YEARS developing a closely guarded secret strain of yeast to make it. IT is somewhere between 28-30%.

To go higher you have to either distill the beer or freeze it to remove some of the water. This is about as legitimate as taking a Budweiser and mixing it with grain alcohol.
