Should you ever be around the place as a tourist, this is an amazing recommendation. (Provided the weather is good too).

You can hire a boat with a tiny engine and just sail around the place, its really wonderfull.

Mr. Ree You write funny comments, intelligent comments, insightful comments, then you post one like this.
I think you are actually way more intelligent than this.

Thank you for the comment, Clyde.
Having intelligence and being a bigot are not mutually exclusive. I feel that people that have this "all people are equal/same" public opinion are either lying (most likely), have blinders on (lying to themselves) or just haven't lived long enough to recognize that 'all men are NOT created equal' because in REALITY, they aren't.

In my line of work, I have to be very careful what I say because if I let my personal feelings be known about certain races/sexual preferences/religions etc. it would quickly cost me my job (see Paula Dean as an example). Even though I have an exemplary record doing my job and have moved through the ranks much faster than my peers, if my personal preferences were to be known, all those superlative performance reviews would be chucked out the window because we live in a liberal pussy society where our children are being groomed to be all alike, think alike, behave alike and believe alike so that they (or their children or their children's children) will be the easily controlled little droids that the government is striving for.
I'm a bigot but I'm not a racist. I don't like blacks/gays/religious zealots (and others) but I don't want to see them slaughtered and exterminated - I just don't want to be around them or be forced to deal with their bullshit.
Travel around the country or the world for a few years and meet all kinds of people. I bet your opinions about certain segments of society would change whether it be blacks, trailer trash rednecks, muslims, whatever.
Again, thanks for the compliment.

...and BTW, MANY people feel exactly the same way I do, they just don't put it out in public.

Mr. Ree,
You say you don't want everyone to think, behave, and believe alike, yet you paint all these segments of society with one broad brush of opinion and tell us to look at life like you do.
Thankfully, I'm sure most izi users don't "think" like you and we get awfully tired of hearing about it.

There are a lot of problems in this world, that exists because we are too afraid to talk about this in public, in fear or the racist card and to step on toes. Political correctness should die, and be replaced with a discussion, where we dare to talk openly about issues regarding various social and cultural (including immigrants) segments of the society. Only then can we start talking about building a safe and peaceful society.

Fenrisulven, I agree to a certain point but whenever anyone tries such a thing, they get torn to pieces by the media or special interest group(s).
Bill Cosby came out a few years ago deriding the modern black community. The 'black community' didn't want to hear anything like this (even from a fellow black) and he was shut down quickly.
Paula Dean - a 60 - something white woman brought up in the southern USA was asked if she had ever used the 'n-word' (the word is 'nigger' if you weren't sure) and she answered honestly. Her career is all but destroyed. 99.98% of people over the age of 12 in the USA have used that word and in the south, the percentage jumps to 99.99%. She should have lied (a biblical sin) and said she has never ever, ever used that word. The rest of the world would be thinking, "BULLSHIT", but her life would have been easier if she would've lied about it.
Michael Richards career was destroyed because he said a single word (hint: the same 'n-word') but Chris Rock or any other black comedian can use racial slurs for other races and their careers flourish.
Use the word 'fag' and you just committed a hate crime (unless you're in Britain and talking about cigarettes).
The world is truly fucked up and we can't even talk about it.

Thank goodness for the Internet, eh?

it's funny... i moved from philly a couple years ago over here to ohio to spend final time with my dad. back in philly there was a tiresome amount of hipsterism in the 'i will out-cool you, bro' vein, but there was also quite a bit of tension between the races and quite a bit of 'f-you, pal' right up front. needless to say i got pretty well-adjusted to all that.

when i moved to ohio i was kind of blown away by how nice everyone seemed, not to mention i found it kind of quaint, the younger generation's idea of being hip. but after falling in to numerous traps, deceits, and convolutions and initially assuming it was -i- who was in the wrong... just lost in translation... i eventually realised that this part of ohio is a far more normal example of humanity than philly / NYC / russia / etc could ever be. in other words, i think the normal situation of life tends to be deception and manipulation when operating as an individual. and the whole PC issue almost seems like an extension of that-- i.e., nature shows across its spectrum that the idea of equalness is complete nonsense, yet we somehow took the ideas of democretes, locke, and the founders way too seriously at some point... maybe because you can't run a modern economic tech society without it. i don't know.

anyway, black people remain rather refreshing to me. they are much nicer here but still show their feelings on their sleeves, just like in philly. there are underlying communication issues as always, but at least i know where they're coming from. with white people it seems more a minefield of genuinely great people, but many more ruthless and completely self-interested people who have mastered the art of charming your socks off... or something like that. again it brings to mind the PC issue.

at this point i have no theoretical problem with anyone who's bigoted... i very much respect the principle and braveness of being upfront, actually. still, i identify way more with tribespeople and animals than you humans in civilisation. i don't understand why you all live like you do across a long field of ways. i mean, i've gotten comfortable living here on the moon, but instead of having only a few other humans i can relate to, i wish there were more. er, well then... sorry if that was the longest ramble ever.

Mr. Ree, yes you are of cause right. I do not deal with black people, trailer trash etc, so my view is probably a tunnel vision type of one. But there are certainly groups of people that I do not like just the same. Its just that I take the keep it to myself, keep quiet about that type of attitude.
They say good relationships are made of the 2 or 3 things we don't say each day.

Mr Ree:

Nice. You are 100% correct. I would get fired too if I said my true colors. I hate Homosexuals, but I don't want them harmed. Just go back in the closet so my kid doesn't ask me why 2 men are holding hands.

But, they hold hands because they love each other. Why is that so hard to tell your kids? Why should they hide their love because of you?

homosexuality is evidently not rare in nature. i don't understand what that's like, but who gives a crap? those people never bothered me and i'm not out to order the world.

Ohh Please, this is the internet.

Everything that speaks with even the tiniest bit of logic is defined as a "human being" in my book. I just don't have any fucks to give about everything else.

btw, FUCK YOU ALL!
