The statue of the Soviet state founder, Vladimir Lenin, was knocked down by a crowd in protest against the recent alleged decision by the government to cooperate with Moscow. The symbolic act was only part of the greater protests that are currently in full force as people refuse to live in a corrupt country under Yanukovich’s rule.
In this taken at the beginning of December, police guard the monument as the level of protest mounts.
