unfortunately, the far more usual case is that man does something knowingly or unknowingly that causes damage or extinction to flora, fauna, habitat. if nothing else, i think everyone needs to understand that fact.
for me, it's embarrassing living amidst a peoples that are still so clueless about how this stuff works. the general narcissism upon human affairs is pretty mind-boggling to me.
