Lettuce and low calorie greens are not the best diet. Most turtles and tortoises are omnivorous and need at least 25% of their diet to be high protein like meat. The owner needs to offer a variety of food for a well rounded diet.

And once again ree shows how ignorant he is. First, this is about a tortoise and not a turtle. Big differnece between the two. I will focus on the tortoise. A tortoise is NOT an omnivoire. It strictly eats fruits and vegetables. Now, an aquitac turtle is almost entirely a carnivore but a turtle is NOT a tortoise. In summation, ree is wrong again. Maybe he has never heard of google.
