The Neverending Story
I will never get the phrase, "don't let the sadness of the swamp get to you" out of my head. The Neverending Story 100% scarred me for life. Thanks a lot, you monsters.
Toy Story 3
The beloved gang is sinking towards the depths of the incinerator and struggling to escape when suddenly they stop fighting it. They accept their fate and decide to join hands and meet their end as one. ARE YOU KIDDING ME RIGHT NOW?
All Dogs Go To Heaven
"Will I ever see you again?" "Of course! But not until your life has come to an end because I'm leaving this world forever so by the time we're reunited you'll have completely forgotten about me." Just rip my heart out, guys.
My Girl
My Girl covered all the common things young girls experience. You know, changes in your body, emotional development, HAVING TO BURY YOUR BEST FRIEND BECAUSE HE WAS MURDERED BY BEES WHILE TRYING TO RECOVER YOUR LOST MOOD RING.
Homeward Bound
When Shadow tells Chance he's learned everything except how to say goodbye I wept like a pageant winner. Why do you do this to us, Homeward Bound?
Harry and the Hendersons
Harry's life is in danger and the only way to convince him to flee into the woods is by convincing him that his family hates him and physically punching him in the face. I can't even look at that picture of him without getting sad.
An American Tale
The whole movie is just awful! It's the tragic story of a poor mouse that desperately wants to escape his hellish life and flee to America. The problem is that once he gets here things get even worse. How joyous!
Bambi
That picture says enough. We're not talking about this one right now.
The Land Before Time
So not only does Little Foot lose his mom and realize he's alone forever, he gets to sit in front of her in the rain and watch her die. Why were we watching these movies?
The Lion King
It was bad enough watching Mufasa fall to his death, but when baby Simba goes up and tries to get his dad to wake up and take him home, I completely lost my composure. Just skip this part and go straight to the end when Scar gets beat up.
Frozen
So Anna and Elsa's parents just died and Elsa can't pop her head out of her ice cave for two seconds to say, "hey I have these powers that might kill you but I want you to know I love you and we can totally talk through the door." Nope. Instead she remains completely silent and let's Anna live her entire life, including her grieving, alone. I don't want to build a snowman with you at all, Elsa.
Up
You knew this one was coming. In the first ten minutes of this kid's movie we see a couple struggle with a miscarriage and then an old man lose the love of his life and come to the harsh realization that he is forever alone. Enjoy, kids!
