Have no desire to engage in the over-politicized global warming fester but... we do have a very polluted planet that desperately does need cleaning.

Also...

the problem is that we need to do much more than just a cleaning or a fixing... we need to fundamentally change our awareness and our habits as a species. assuming we want to survive, that is.

in reality that's not really how life works, so unfortunately i do not expect that to happen.

About 20 yards from my front door, there's a strip of asphalt that winds around down to a state park, where the local college kids gather on weekends. Unfortunately, while they hold regular campus vigils for saving the planet, they trash the roadsides quite thoroughly.

Oh well... gotta start somewhere. The folks at Glad should certainly be appreciative.

haha, sounds about right.

what really gets to me are the ones who are completely oblivious to the whole situation and just chasing their entitlement so to speak. at least try to be present in reality and make an effort. i could tolerate us all failing if we at least went down fighting the right battles.

The 'right battles' are today subject to so many injectables... I mean, common sense should rule. It always has... or had, at least since my grey-celled brain can recall.

It's a good and worthy point. Things change but common sense doesn't... or at least, shouldn't.

i definitely agree that it's hard for a person in today's world to know what the hell the right battles are. even common sense can be deceptive on that, i think.

same time, i hope that a person of average intelligence should be able to follow the broad news and see that we are clearly not living sustainably in a world with finite resources and finite ecological health. this is the biggest problem of all as i see it, and directly ties in to economics and personal safety as many are quickly finding out.
