Elizabeth Diamond was diagnosed with stage 4 brain cancer in 2014 and the single mother of four asked her best friend, Laura Ruffino to adopt her girls if she died. Laura said yes in an instant and has since kept her promise.
Unfortunately, Eleizabeth Diamond passed away in April 2015, leaving behind her 4 wonderful girls
Luckily, they’ve been adopted by the Ruffino-Diamond family, which has now doubled in size!
“She said if anything ever happens to me I want you to take my girls and I instantly said ok”
“As she started to weaken you can imagine the fears that I had for the girls and being without her.”
“Ten years ago I didn’t think this would be my life. But if something gets thrown at you just accept the challenge and do the best you can”
The Ruffinos have done everything they can to make the girls feel welcome!
Diamond was a caring soul, writing books about wellness and founding a non-profit wellness center
Even the local community has pitched in to help out
A YouCaring campaign has already raised more than $80,000 to help them adjust to a family that’s twice as big!
