Personally, I wish this was simply humorous because here in the 21st century, being a US citizen is immediately an avenue for animosity.
But... that noted, that map is more than correct; the US applied the 20th century basically expanding its culture on and over our neighbors. But, now when those neighbors to the south want to take us up on it... we get all hot and bothered.
The old hippie in me still wants to move to a mountain commune and spend my life away from it all.
