After a build time of 32 months, Harmony of the Seas first set sail on 15 May 2016 from the STX France docks in Saint-Nazaire. The ship's maiden voyage departed from Southampton on 29 May and arrived at its summer home port of Barcelona on 5 June. Harmony of the Seas has 2,747 staterooms to accommodate over 5,479 guests and 2,100 crew members.

110,000 lbs of ice cubes are made each day and 479,314 gallons of fresh water are consumed every 24 hours. Harmony carries 40 brands of beer, 340 brands of wine and 127 specialty cocktails. There are 40 varieties of fruit and 80 kinds of vegetables.
