Also in the movie Pearl Harbor, it's 1941 and in the military restaurant, or whatever they call it - nobody is smoking; another thing, there were no slant deck aircraft carriers then - (too many more to mention) but this is the funniest; the captain of the aircraft carrier is calling for full speed ahead and when the camera pulls back, the anchor chain has deployed so the anchor is still on the seabed.
U-571
Unlike in the movie, the submarine U-571 was never actually captured. The British Navy captured U-559 and U-110 with codebooks, but it was four months before the United States entered the war.
