Deformation Zones In Action (4 pics)

A modern Kia Optima crashed into a 35-year-old “Swedish tank” Volvo 240, and you can barely see any traces of the crash when looking at the Volvo, while Kia is almost beyond repair. This is because there is so-called “deformation zones” in modern cars, which make the car take all the damage to save the passengers. Meanwhile, the car from the 80’s will be barely damaged, while passengers will have to pay with their health.
