My interviewer played the bad guy and asked me if I separate my trash. I stucked for a moment and he interrupted me in my answer with „are you an eco or a capitalist?!“

Will never know what it was his problem. Didn’t get the job.

My last boss leaned back in the chair and scratched the floor with my CV. As I told him that I have studied he asked surprised „oh. You were at an university?!“ yes. If you would have read my f@#king cv instead of playing cool. Got the job and took for the need of money. It turned out to be the most incompetent boss ever. He asked me simple things about excel and word, yelled at me if his wife was mad at him and the next day I was his best friend. Was paid by minimum wage with an absolutely crazy unreachable bonus system. He laughed at me as I quit after 4 years and mentioned that he was expecting this. fool

In the UK it’s illegal to ask a woman if she’s expecting or likely to be in the future. Most of these could end up at tribunal and the employer would lose every time. Depending on if you get the job or not!

Victor,
It's illegal in Canada too. It's also illegal to ask someone's age....even though ageism is rampant anyway.

I would look for mothers with older children at home. They already have experience handling childish men in a work environment.

#1 is the number one reason that women have a hard time in the workplace. Because not only is pregnancy a deterrent for an employer, the maternity leave...but then, because parenting is often NOT shared by male partners, once the baby is born women have to take time off to take care of their kids when they get sick every couple of weeks as infants and toddlers. It makes women a liability.
If men shared parenting more, employers wouldn't be as reluctant.
