so either math is a joke or the interpretation of surveys was the error, not the survey itself.
The polls were wrong because of two reasons: first, people often change their mind in the last second when it comes to elections. Second, there is a social desirability bias. Both are known problems. Surveys in general are totally fine, but bad work is bad work.
