A girl I knew in college. Her dad called once to remind her that every so often she needed to put oil in her truck. She did. Then her truck started smelling like french fries and then died. Even after trying to explain it, she couldn’t understand that this was directly related to the quart of vegetable oil she put in the motor.

A colleague of me once asked if people have ever been riding dinosaurs or if the dinosaurs went extinct before humans came to be. Me, a former dinosaur kid, now an adult who tries to keep an eye on the latest news about dinosaur finds could not believe my ears. She is around 50 years old and have a masters degree. It made me realize that what I see as common knowledge may not be so. (or she's an idiot...)
