Nope, I had a lot of cats, some of them were trying to jump on the counter at any time, also there were few cats that never had that urge, my current 10 year old male cat doesn't even like to jump on anything else (chairs, sofas, tables etc) outside of my bedroom. Just chilling on the floor in the kitchen, guestroom, livingroom, so there are exceptions
