The 90s were a tough time to be a Rams fan. In 1999, before week 1 of the NFL season, the Rams saw their recent QB signing, Trent Green, suffer a season-ending injury. Vegas set pre-season odds at 300 to 1 for St. Louis to win the Super Bowl. The Rams beat the Titans, 23–16, at Super Bowl XXXIV.
Gold Medal Olympic Wrestling Match (2000)
Odds: 2,000-1 for Rulon Gardner to win gold.
Rulon Gardner was an American amateur wrestler who faced the sport’s all-time great Alexander Karelin from Russia. Karelin began the match with a 13-year unbeaten record in international competition. Gardner beat Karelin to win gold at the Olympics.
Standford vs USC, NCAA College Football (2007)

What some NCAA fans call “The Greatest Upset Ever,” Stanford beat USC in the final minute of play. A sophomore QB named Tavita Pritchard connected with Mark Bradford for a 10-yard touchdown pass to win the game 24–23. Not bad for Pritchard’s first career start.
Appalachian State vs Michigan, NCAA College Football (2007)

Michigan entered the season ranked fifth in the NCAA and Appalachian State was a Division 1-AA team. To put that into perspective, no Division 1-AA team had beaten a Division 1-A team like Michigan. The final score? 34-32 Appalachian State.
The Kentucky Derby (2009)
Odds: 50-1 for Mine That Bird to win
Bought for $9.5K this horse, with average racing bloodlines, earned over $2.5M. Out of the starting gate of the Kentucky Derby the horse was roughly eight lengths behind the rest of the pack. Mine That Bird pulled away to win by 6 3⁄4 lengths, the longest victory margin in 60+ years.
Buster Douglas vs Mike Tyson
Odds: 42-1 for Douglas to win
This was a fight with “Iron” Mike Tyson at the peak of his prime. This was a 37-0 with 33 knockouts Mike Tyson. Buster Douglas was almost 7 years older than Tyson at the time and had four more losses than Mike. Buster rallied after an 8th round knockdown to end the reign of “Iron” Mike Tyson with a 10th round knockout.
The 2015 Premier League
Odds: 5,000-1 for Leicester to win the 2015 Premier League
In a year that saw Premier League favourites Manchester United, Liverpool and Chelsea finish 5th, 8th, and 10th respectively, Leicester went on to capture their first Premier League title.

This was The Miracle On Ice game. The Soviet Union, who had won the gold medal five of the past six Olympics, took on a United States team made up of college players with little to no professional experience. The final score was 4-3 for the US.
