Natalie Portman, originally Natalie Hershlag, was born on June 9, 1981.

 

She was born in Jerusalem to her American mother, Shelly Stevens, and Israeli father, Avner Hershlag.

 

Her family moved to the U.S. in 1984 and settled down in Syosset, Long Island, New York.

 

Portman missed the 1999 premiere of Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace because she had a high school exam the next day.

Portman is a petite 5’3” tall. Once, a customs official in London asked her if she was traveling with a guardian.

 

Natalie holds duel citizenship in the United States and Israel. Many of her family members were lost in the Holocaust, including her great-grandparents on her father’s side. They were killed in the Auschwitz concentration camp in Poland.

 

Natalie speaks English, Hebrew, French, German, Japanese, and Spanish.

 

Her first major role was as Mathilda in Leon: The Professional in 1994.

 

Portman is her paternal grandmother’s maiden name. She chose to take it as her stage name after landing her first acting gig.

Portman has been a vegetarian since she was 8 years old, and a vegan since 2009. However, she did take a brief break when she was pregnant.

She also took graduate courses at the Hebrew University in Jerusalem and has two papers published in scientific journals. She co-wrote one of them in high school.

 

The actress has won dozens of awards including four Golden Globes and three Academy Awards.

 

Natalie and her family lived in Paris for years, but now reside in Los Angeles.

 

Natalie Portman and Mila Kunis are great friends in real life. Between her role in Black Swan and No Strings Attached, she’s had steamy stage relations with both Mila Kunis and her husband Ashton Kutcher.

 

Portman’s father is a fertility specialist and gynecologist. She says she’d like to follow in his footsteps when she’s older.

 

Natalie is good friends with Britney Spears. They were once understudies for an off-Broadway play and hosted a New Year’s party together in 2002.

 

The actress went through a lot while filming Black Swan. She lost 20 pounds and trained up to 16 hours a day. While shooting, she broke a rib and injured her ankle.

Number 27: she "bravely" wore a "stunning" dress to the oscars written with the names of all the female directors who had been "snubbed" that year by the acadamy, proving yet again the hypocrisy of Hollywood and it's limo liberals because her own film company employs only one female director. Her. But wait, she's still a victim, what with all that attention, natural beauty, privilege and fame and fortune. *sniff* So brave.

The Auschwitz concentration camp was established by the Germans who occupied Poland during World War II.
There was no Poland then.
Initially, only Poles were imprisoned in the camp, and later were other nationalities imprisoned there.

Auschwitz is and ever was in Poland.

There was no Polish state because it was occupied by Germans and Russians.
The Germans set up a concentration camp in this area
This is how Auschwitz was established on lands that were administratively part of Germany
