Aleva, actually only some cities where bombed a lot, most of the nice stuff survived. Dresden was affected the most of all cities and lost a lot of beautiful things. If you visit it now, you see old, nice buildings totally mixed with new ones. Still it has some things to see like the Frauenkirche and the Zwinger for example.

Just come over here, you won't regret it ;-) and btw. lot's of medieval stuff if you're into that.
