Photographer Jassen Todorov has captured the impact that pandemic had on air travelling industry. Thousands of airplanes stay jobless as American air travel companies have lost over $34 billion last year, and so far things are not looking better for the industry.

You can't just park a passenger plane, or cruise ship, or even your car for a year, then just fire it up and go. You've got to use it or lose it, and maintain it along the way. On the back side of this pandemic there's going to be a huge need to update and replace old inventory.

Not all of them, but some of those are military planes so it's clear these are in the museum.

Absolutely correct! Marana Airplane Graveyard.
Many military planes anyway and not airline related. A lot of them are old obsolete aircraft as well.

Airlines don't have the space to store their fleet. In normal times the planes are either in the air, at an airport or in a maintenance hangar, not all parked on the ground.

... Lets blame everything on the pandemic, while showing long term storage facility and or boneyard in the desert. Airline industry never been profitable its whole existence, only govt. subsidies and bailouts kept it afloat.

I saw a bunch of FedEx planes there. FedEx is doing a lot of business right now so those must be “retired” planes. As others have said, this kind of post sends out bad info - many of those are planes stored in the desert where they are eventually recycled - nothing to do with COVID. No doubt the travel industry as a whole is suffering but this is not a good way to illustrate it.

Yes, the insane overreaction is destroying the economy, wiping out thousands of small businesses, and even some big ones. Over a virus with a .05% fatality rate.

ohohohoh BIG PROPAGANDA THESE COMPANIES MADE RECORD NUMBERS YR AFTER YR,INSTEAD OF INVESTING IN SECURITIES INSURANCE AND CASES LIKE NOW WHEN THE AIR TRAVEL IS RESTRICTED(JUST LIKE WHEN VOLCANOES BREAK OUT)....THEY GAVE BIG BONUSES AND EXORBITANT PAYMENT TO PILOTS AND UPPER MANAGEMENT,.....NOW THEY WANT TAX PAYER MONEY SO THEY GET BAILED OUT ...AGAIN.....ANYONE ELSE THAT LOSES THEIR COMPANY WONT GET ANY HELP FROM TAXPAYER MONEY ....BUT YALL GON SEE TAXPAYER MONEY GON BE GIVEN FOR FREE TO BE PUT IN THE AIR TRAVEL INDUSTRY------WHILE YOU LOSE YOUR JOB.....OR YOUR COMPANY BREAKS AND NO ONE WILL GIVE U MONEY,THE MONEY YOU SPENT ON TAXES IS GIVEN TO COMPANIES THAT WILL NOT KEEP THE JOBS THAT ARE NOW AND ARE PRIVATE!!!!
