Probably work, just have to do it in the cold to be less mess. Just remember to put the top up.
If it hasn't frozen to the vehicle, I'd use a blower first to remove as much as possible and save work. Not sure how well snow vacuums up, but you can blow away a puddle with a good blower. Probably just towel finish, put up the top and leave a small crack in the window to vent any steam.
