Imagine to have those unlashed boxes with unlashed lids in a car, accellerating, breaking, turning and going over bumpers.
The vapour might get the driver unconscious, every spark (eg from the door switch that turns on the interiour light) could ignite the steam
(not the liquid is dangerous, but the steam)
And last but not least are there many sorts of plastic, that are dissolveld by fuel.
Even if the container stays stable, they will burn plastic in their engines.
For the engine itself is it probably ok. But imagine to push liquid plastic into a pipe, that's constructed to cool the exhausts and silent it (called exhaust pipe)
Maybe, the exhaust pipe gets blocked and bursts.
And a bursted exhaust pipe can kill the driver with CO...
