yeh, noone has figured out what it was yet, but there have been lots of theories.
it was seen from mid-norway all teh way up to northern Norway (which is about 1000km)

You people hurt my head, I swear. lol This phenomenon gets re-explained every other week when someone new see's these pics/videos. It's just shuttle debris. I've seen these a couple times IRL. The spiral is caused by excess fuel being burned off from parts of the shuttle meant to separate from the base.
