The bike was on the road so he used the bice lane.
I guess the cycle track was empty and road was filled with 2 law abiding citizens on "scourge of the roads".
If they are traveling then choose a side path.
If they are in a hurry then they have the wrong driving tool.
If they engage in health sports. Then inhaling car exhaust fumes is not healthy. But they are, after all, on the road.
