Exactly. Seeing people wearing a mask lets you know who the stupid & obedient people are.

Delphia,

Nah, already had the Wu-flu. So did my son. No big deal unless you're over 70 or obese.

Johanna,
Obese? You mean like almost half of America? I'd say that's a big deal.

CDC: 73.6% of Americans 20 or older are overweight.
42.5% of Americans 20 or older are obese.

Flossy,

If you're obese, there are plenty of illnesses that will get besides the Wu-flu...

Delphia,
The masks are of very little use against covid. Most recent studies show that even under ideal conditions (wearing the masks properly) they reduce contagion by 10% at best. So yes, wearing the mask is an exercise in virtue signaling. Besides, if one is vaccinated or otherwise immune, why is it one's responsibility to protect those who obviously are fine with their risk levels? I'm for freedom of choice and personal responsibility and am fed up with these non-scientific mandates which are in reality means of enforcing control and obedience. You Americans are trading your freedom for an illusion of safety and have NO idea what it's like to live under an leftist fascistic authoritarian government which is where you are headed if you continue to support the Marxist rooted woke garbage. Read Orwell's allegorical novel Animal Farm or his book titled 1984 and maybe get an insight of where this all ends up.

#28 - Metres, not meters. Meters are measuring instruments, such as speedometer, electric meter et cetera, while metres are the unit of measure, in this case 1000 metres. Sigh.

Augustina,

“Metre” is the British spelling of the unit of length equal to 100 cm, and “meter” is the American spelling of the same unit. However, “meter” is also used in British English, but it means something different.

A “meter” in British English is an instrument for measuring. You have several of them at home – a water meter, a gas meter and an electricity meter. The man with a clipboard who rings your doorbell when you’re just about to step into the shower on a Saturday morning has come to read your meter. And you put money into them when you park on the side of the road in the city centre – parking meters. “Meter” also has this meaning in American English.
