In 1972 there was a movie called "Silent Running" about a man who flees the Earth in a spaceship with 3 robots. The day after we saw the movie my mother and sister woke me up to show me a fan they had bought that they fancied resembled the robots. (It had a round face and two legs, that was about the extent of the resemblance.) "See, they came back!" my mother said to me as I groggily woke up.

50 years later I still have that fan and it still works. I've carried it from one home to another, through 3 apartments and 4 houses.
