Socialism ALWAYS degrades into an authoritarian communist dictatorship. We have over 100 million corpses in the 20th century to prove it. If that's not enough for you, move to the socialist paradise of your choosing - but don't try to implement here.
When you give up all socialist benefits you'll be be seen as being a lot less less hypocritical when you bash socialism. As it stands, you benefit from socialism in more ways that you could possibly imagine. You have a military to protect you no matter how little you pay in taxes, because you benefit from what others pay. Same goes for your roads, your police, your fire departments, your air traffic controllers, your court system, and much of the infrastructure you take for granted. Anytime you make use of anything paid for by tax dollars or donations you are reaping socialist benefits, and doing better in your life because of these accepted forms of socialism.

Good point. Communism is when the government controls the economy and decides what is produced, who works where and how much they are paid.
