yep and should be perfectly legal since most major cities stop arresting people for theft under $1000. you can go to a store and steal every day
theft under $1000 was classified as misdemeanor rather than felony. You still get prosecuted.
Not true in some liberal leaning cities. Walgreens pharmacy for instance has a policy that they don't pursue or prosecute any theft under $650.00
