I bought a Kinder egg at my local US grocery store.

I guess you're technically right... The cops kicking open her door did wake her up a few seconds before they shot her to death.
Wrong. The cops knocked on the door, warrant in hand, and she asked, “who is it?” before they kicked open her door. She was shot by stray bullets intended for her boyfriend after he fired at the police. He maintains they never announced that they were the police. The boyfriend was suspected of drug dealing.
