#27 - That is the soviet version of the Kenner Girder and Panel building sets of the '60s. It featured thin, translucent plastic panels colored to look like the glass and steel sky scrapers that were being erected in the US during that time. The panels Attached to plastic "girders" whose ends you would connect to build a framework on which to attach the panels to make it look solid. It was a silly concept and the panels cracked and broke pretty easily, but it was a hugely popular build toy around the time the James Bond film, "Goldfinger" was released.

What, no pictures of the gulags? The USSR achieved 'equity'. Tens of millions of people had to die to achieve it, but they did it.

Lola,

Do you ask for pictures of Guantanamo every time there is a picdump about America?

Ariadne, Seriously? You're comparing Guantanamo to the gulags? And the sad thing is that if you had simply argued that Americans frequently whitewash their history too, I would have agreed with you. As bad as Guantanamo was, it doesn't even hold a candle to the gulags.

With posters that have smiles like these, no wonder Russians think only idiots randomly smile in public.
