Soooo, someone steals a camera and then places it in a post of found things?
Why would somebody show it at all on a post like this if they stole it? It's not like the site came by his house and went: " Nice camera! Where did you get it?" And he quickly had to think of an excuse....
And for the record, people throw away expensive stuff all the time for a variation of reasons.
And you're so right - just the other day my neighbor threw away his perfectly good 2-year old Bentley.
First of all, I bet a new stolen camera Bertha didn't mean that. In fact, it's obvious he didn't because he said "I don't believe YOU". That can only mean that the person didn't really find it in the trash. You're just grasping at straws to prove me wrong because, well... only you can answer that...
Secondly, "couldn't fence it"? Do you live in the 80's? You can just sell things on the Internet these days. And since camera's don't have a serial number that's being tracked there is no reason whatsoever why you couldn't fence it if you were dumb enough to.
And why would this alleged thief need to get rid of it? Did he suddenly remember he dropped his wallet when he stole it and know the police are gonna search his house? Which they are not even allowed to?
And there's aslight difference between a 10 year old camera that cost a little over €100 then and a Bently...
That's right! I actually recognize the model! Used to sell them. Which gives a logical explanation of why it was thrown away. It's outdated and you may get €40 for it if you sell it online if you're lucky and it probably wasn't worth the owner's time. Probably didn't use it as much as he or she expected and at a spring cleaning threw it out. Not that weird. Hell, I've thrown out old computer monitors that used to cost €400 because I'm not gonna spend the effort on the few bucks someone might give for it.
So yeah... Seems I have a better grip on things than you...
Or maybe a mad girlfriend.
What happened to his testicles??
